I owe St. Lukes, John Armstrong and his team for the fact I still have my partner, despite being diagnosed 10 years ago with throat cancer. It’s not just the physical treatment – which is difficult enough. It’s the emotional support. They are with the families all the way. Cancer dosn’t just strike an individual it strikes a family. Luke’s became a home from home for 12 months. You won’t get that in a mega-hospital. SAVE LUKE’s
When i was diagnosed with cancer i was terified ,when i went to st lukes and met the doctor and the nurses they really make you feel at ease, they are fantastic. just sitting in the hospital is very calming not like the big hospitals which is what you need when you are getting through cancer the support is first class.so please everyone give your support and save ST LUKES we need it.I no if any of my family and friends got cancer god forbid i would like them to go to st lukes and get the best treatment they can get.
st lukes is my savour. when my sister was diagnosed with cancer we were all shocked, she was so healthy never at a docto. only 43 and a size 8 so fit.she done her chemo in the mater hospital. The nurses there are just wounderful i mean they go further than there call of duty and it is the same with st lukes its just st lukes is so different from anyother hospital. As soon as you walk into st lukes it is so relaxing and thats before you have to que up and give your name. The garden is so peaceful and arranged beautiful. My sister was so relaxed after she met the doctor and the nurses they really made her feel that they were really looking after her .i never had cancer but the best person i no did and we would be mad if we let ST LUKES GO because i have seen and listened to what st lukes is and i no if I had cancer thats were I would want to be to get the best care, save ST LUKES
Both my father and sister were both treated in St. Luke’s and they both had to come from Sligo to St Luke’s for their treatment and the staff were always so good to them.
I cannot understand why the Government want to close such a very important hospital which has look after so many cancer patients down through the years.
as an ongoing patient at St Lukes, i find it very difficult to understand the logic in the closure of the hospital. from my own personal experience, as a cancer patient the staff and treatment is super
What about the people who have to travel miles to get treatment, the extra stress put on to them. also the amount of staff who could lose their jobs. please god the powers that be will be returned to some form of understanding be fore making a final decision.
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD – I HAVE A PLEDGE AT http://www.pledgebank.com/SAVESTLUKES. I NEED SEVEN MORE PEOPLE TO PLEDGE THAT THEY WILL WRITE TO THE MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND THEIR LOCAL MINISTER TO SAVE ST LUKES. PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO YOU THINK WILL CARE.
WE NEED HOSPITALS LIKE ST LUKE’S – MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD
